Staff v Students Soccer Match

A most enjoyable game was held in the grounds at the middle of May and played in a most SPORTING manner. Despite the obvious varying degrees of fitness among the staff team (and mentor!), the students failed to capitalise on their early (Fluke.....) lead. An excellent tikka takka display by staff in the 2nd half saw them justly equalise, playing super passing football. In the end of it all, Referee, Finbarr Murphy, had to take both teams to penalities.

The shootout amid a very hostile and partisan student following produced a nail-biting finale with the students finishing victorious by 4 - 3 after 5 penalties each.
